Olibanum/guggul & myrrh are the raw materials from which oil is isolated using steam distillation to produce liquid aromatics. Resin, the other fraction, is isolated using solvent extraction. The solvent extraction process produces a viscous, almost solid substance called a resinoid. Resinoids are soluble in high-grade, absolute alcohols.
